ClearCorrect Clear Aligner Therapy
If you’ve been considering orthodontic treatment but are not thrilled with the idea of a year or more of metal braces with uncomfortable brackets and wires, call Smiles of Carolina. Knightdale dentists Dr. Ko and Dr. Mark are both skilled in the use of ClearCorrect, an invisible braces system that uses plastic aligners to carefully move your teeth into the correct positions.
How Does ClearCorrect Work?
When you meet with Dr. Ko or Dr. Mark to discuss orthodontic treatment for your crooked teeth, we will begin with a thorough examination that will help us determine how to help you best. We will then create a treatment plan from beginning to end. To create your custom-made aligners, we will take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab.
Your ClearCorrect aligners are designed to be worn in a specific order. Each aligner will shift your teeth slightly. At the prescribed time, you simply switch to the next aligner in the series. No wires to tighten. No brackets to repair. Straightening your crooked teeth has never been easier.
Best yet, ClearCorrect is practically invisible while it being worn. You wear the aligners throughout the day and at bed at night. They are comfortable and won’t affect your appearance or the way you speak. Nobody will ever know that you are correcting your teeth – although they may notice the improvement in your smile once your treatment is complete.
How Is ClearCorrect Better Than Braces?
ClearCorrect can fix most orthodontic problems. You don’t have to worry about brackets or wires breaking, and you don’t have to spend hours in our office having your wires tightened. Because you remove ClearCorrect to eat, you don’t have to keep track of a long list of potentially damaging foods like you would if you were wearing traditional braces. Eat whatever you like and then simply brush your teeth before replacing your ClearCorrect aligner.
Sometimes you can tell if someone has worn braces in the past because permanent markings remain on their enamel. These markings were caused by difficulty brushing around the brackets and wires, which resulted in a build-up of plaque and tartar. Flossing around wires is notoriously difficult. If it isn’t done correctly, gum disease could be the result. With ClearCorrect, you remove the aligners and then brush and floss your teeth as usual. To clean your aligners, brush them as directed by Dr. Ko or Dr. Mark and then rinse them in lukewarm water.
Do I Really Need to Fix My Crooked Teeth?
Even if your crooked teeth don’t bother you from an aesthetic perspective, they could be setting you up for future oral health problems. When your teeth overlap or are crowded, it is difficult to reach all the surfaces of your teeth with your toothbrush. In time, plaque and tartar will build up, and cavities and decay become a real possibility. Additionally, crowded teeth are difficult to floss properly, which can lead to the development of gum disease.
Call Smiles of Carolina today to schedule your ClearCorrect consultation and examination with Dr. Mark or Dr. Ko. You can have a healthy and beautiful smile with ClearCorrect invisible braces.
