Dr. William Ko, DDS
Dr. William Ko is a partner dentist at Smiles of Carolina with a deep commitment to both clinical excellence and community care. He earned his dental degree from the UNC School of Dentistry and went on to complete a Master of Public Health degree — also at UNC — reflecting his dedication to dentistry that goes beyond the operatory.
During his graduate studies, Dr. Ko spent three years providing dental care to underserved communities in Halifax County and the Eastern regions of North Carolina. That experience shaped his patient-centered philosophy and his genuine passion for making quality dental care accessible to everyone.
Dr. Ko enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a special enthusiasm for treating children and helping young patients build healthy habits that last a lifetime. Outside the office, he loves spending time with his family and exploring new cultures. Dr. Mark Pcolinsky, DMD
Dr. Mark is one of Smiles of Carolina’s partner dentists. Originally from the state of NJ, Dr. Mark graduated UMDNJ –NJ Dental School in 2003. He went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Air Force, during which he obtained immeasurable experience in many aspects of Dentistry. Throughout his training and practice, Dr. Mark has never forgotten what matters most, which is helping others in need. In his spare time, Dr. Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, skiing and playing hockey. He strives to ensure your visit at Smiles of Carolina is pleasant and comfortable.

Practice Manager
Evan brings over 12 years of comprehensive dental experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care, having excelled in nearly every role within the field. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, he began his journey as a sterilization technician, advanced to a DA II, pursued dental hygiene, and ultimately discovered his true passion in leadership as our Practice Manager. Evan is dedicated to fostering practice growth while fiercely preserving the welcoming, small-town atmosphere that patients love. Outside the office, he enjoys watching football, spending quality time with his wife and daughter, tending to his horses, dogs, and cat, and finding meaningful ways to give back to the community.

Judy earned her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from UNC Chapel Hill in 2000, subsequently spending three years serving as a reference librarian on the university campus. After successfully sending her two sons off to college, she transitioned her exceptional organizational and research skills to the dental field. Now a key member of the Smiles of Carolina administrative team, Judy loves the daily opportunity to master new skills and connect warmly with our patients every day.

Born and raised in Raleigh, Codi is a North Carolina native with a deep love for coastal beach days. Karina graduated from WTCC’s Dental Assisting program as a CDA in 2012 and has been an integral part of the Smiles of Carolina team for over a decade. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, she is passionate about breaking down language barriers to provide vital dental education and support. Karina excels at making patients feel completely at ease throughout their visits, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience. Outside of the office, she loves traveling, exploring new culinary experiences, and making memories with her family and friends.

Outside the office, she loves diving into a good book, exploring her creative side through art, and enjoying a large iced coffee.
I had my first appointment with Smiles of Carolina last week. The staff were extremely nice, friendly, professional, and accommodating. Due to staffing issues that day, the dentist himself cleaned my teeth! I was treated like a VIP as a brand new patient. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone looking for a superior experience! I will be going back for sure.
